Sarah has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia, but she is largely self-taught as an artist and cartoonist. When her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease at the age of 55, Sarah began documenting everything she could with drawings, stories and prose. These diaries entries would become her highly-acclaimed graphic novel, Tangles. After Tangles, she went on to publish prose, comics and illustrations in anthologies, magazines and newspapers in Canada, the US and the UK. Sarah is currently working on her second book, a graphic novel about a roadhouse owner, madam and serial killer set in nineteenth-century British Columbia.
